Product Care

How do I wash my Hygge Sheet?

Washing your Hygge Sheet is simple. Just place it in the washing machine at a maximum temperature of 40°C on a normal cycle.

We recommend avoiding fabric conditioner or bleach, as these may degrade the waterproof layer. However, standard washing detergents are safe to use. Your Hygge Sheet can be washed up to 300 times while remaining waterproof.

How do I dry my Hygge Sheet?

Drying is quick and can be done in several ways.

For fast drying, tumble dry on low heat. Alternatively, you can hang it on a washing line, a clothes dryer, or a radiator.

How do I remove stains on my Hygge Sheet?

If you get a stain on your Hygge Sheet, we recommend using a cleaner like Vanish as you would do with other stains on clothing. You can then follow this with a normal wash. Don’t use bleach on your Hygge Sheet.

What size should I buy?
  • Single Mattress Protector: Fits single beds, toddler beds, cot beds, and bunk beds.
  • Double Mattress Protector: Fits double beds.
  • Small Double: Go to next question below.
My Child has a small double - which Hygge Sheet should I go for?

While we don’t offer a specific ‘small double’ size, many of our customers successfully use Hygge Sheets on small double beds. Choosing the best size depends on a couple of factors:

– If your mattress is deep, we recommend the Double Hygge Sheet to ensure the side tucks wrap securely around the mattress.
– If your mattress is shallow or standard depth, you could choose the Single Hygge Sheet. Just note that while the central part of the bed will be protected, the pad may not cover a few inches at each side.

Both options can still provide effective protection where it’s needed most.

Can I cancel my order?

We process orders quickly to get them to you as soon as possible, so it's important to double-check your address and order details before placing your order.

However in special cases, if you need to make changes or cancel, please contact us within 12 hours of placing your order. After this time, your order will be fully processed and on its way to you. If that’s the case, you’ll need to wait for it to arrive and then request a return and refund.

Using your Hygge Sheet

Does the Hygge Sheet cover the whole bed?

Unlike conventional mattress protectors, Hygge Sheets are not designed to cover the entire bed.

Instead, they are made for easy changes while still providing protection for the mattress and sheets from nighttime accidents.

What else could I use my Hygge Sheet for?

Hygge Sheets are versatile! In addition to protecting children's beds from accidents, they can also be used to:

  • Protect the bed from nappy Leaks at night (Hygge Sheets are suitible for over 2 years old)
  • Protect carpets and sofas during potty training
  • Provide a protective layer when a child is sick
Are Hygge Sheets tested for safety?

Yes, absolutely. All Hygge Sheets® are rigorously tested and have passed the relevant safety standards required in the UK, EU, and US.

This includes tests for:

  • Flammability
  • Fibre composition
  • Colourfastness to washing, water, light, and perspiration
  • AZO dyes and formaldehyde under REACH regulations
  • Migration of heavy metals, lead, and cadmium
  • Seam strength and small parts safety

In addition, our mattress protector products are certified to OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, which means they’ve been independently tested and verified to be free from harmful substances, making them safe for direct contact with skin—including for babies and children.

How long does shipping take?

We ship all orders from our warehouse in the UK.

Standard delivery within the United Kingdom takes 2–4 business days.

Once your order is dispatched, you’ll receive a confirmation email with tracking information.

What are the shipping costs?

  • Orders under £30: Flat rate of £3.25
  • Orders over £30: Free UK shipping
What is the shipping policy?

Once your order is placed, you will receive a confirmation email letting you know that our fulfillment team has received your order. Once your order is fulfilled, you will receive an email notification with your tracking information. Shipping fees are non-refundable in the case of returns.

Do you ship overseas?

At the moment, our website only ships within the United Kingdom.
But don’t worry—you can still find Hygge Sheets® on Amazon in the following countries:

  • United States
  • Germany
  • France
  • Spain

What is the returns policy?

We offer a 30-day return policy. If you’re not completely satisfied, you can request a return within 30 days of receiving your order.

To be eligible for a return:

  • Items must be unused, unworn, and in their original packaging
  • Tags must still be attached (if applicable)

You’ll need a receipt or proof of purchase

How do I start a return?

Just email us at hello@hygge-sheets.com to get started. Once your return is approved, we’ll email you a prepaid return shipping label along with instructions.

Please note: Items sent back without contacting us first won’t be accepted.

What if my item is damaged or incorrect?

If your order arrives damaged, faulty, or not what you expected, please contact us right away and we’ll make it right.

Can I exchange an item?

We don’t offer direct exchanges at this time. If you’d like to swap for a different item, simply:

1. Start a return for the original item

2. Place a new order for the one you want

This helps get the right item to you faster!

When will I receive my refund?

Once your return is received and approved, we’ll issue a refund to your original payment method within 10 business days.
